Ronald L. Minzey, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Ronald L. Minzey, Sr., age 72, passed away at home peacefully surrounded by his family, Saturday, June 11, 2011. He was born on June 5, 1939. Mr. Minzey lived most of his life in the Muskegon, MI and has resided in Egelston Township the last 35 years with his wife of 46 years, Betty Jean Seelye, who survives him along with his children Ronald Minzey, Jr. (Pam Heath) and Daniel (Marcie) Minzey all of Muskegon. Mr. Minzey was blessed with 4 beautiful grandchildren, Daniel (Brianna) Minzey, Jr. Jonathon Minzey, Bethany and Makalah Minzey, and 1 great-granddaughter he adored Taylor Minzey and a special friend Ted (Crystal) Twork. Mr. Minzey worked at Westran Corp for 25 years and 13 years with Fleet Engineers. He retired in 2001. He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed the outdoors, loved going for long rides. In addition to his wife and children, Mr. Minzey is survived by 2 sisters, Kay (Howard) Bogue and Kathy (Scott) Maynard; Brothers-in-laws, Earl (Jane) Seelye, Roy (Ruth) Seelye; Sisters-in-laws, Ruth (Bud) Clark, Barb Hoeker and Ethel (Ken) Killebrew along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen Minzey and a special brother-in-law Rev. Thomas Hoeker. The Minzey family would like to express their gratitude for everyone’s love and support throughout this long process. We would like to thank VNS and Hospice and special thanks to the wonderful girls from PNA that took great care of Mr. Minzey. SERVICES will be 1PM Wednesday at Beacon Light Community Church (6031 E. Apple Ave.) with Pastor John Shyne officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210.
