Ronald L. Policha's Obituary
Ronald L. Policha, age 77, passed away at home unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon following a long illness. He was born in Muskegon on November 7, 1933 to Andrew A. and Lois G. (Moon) Policha and was a 1951 graduate of Muskegon Hts. H.S. Ron was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict serving from 1953 to 1955, and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 8846. He was also a member of the Twin Lake Gun Club and the Muskegon Heights Eagles. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was employed at Sealed Power Corp for 34 years, retiring in 1996. He married the former Carolyn Thompson in Muskegon on August 6, 1960 and she survives him along with: a daughter, Rhonda (Patrick) Hanley of N. Muskegon; two sons, Michael (Kathy) Policha of Clinton, IA and Richard (Lori) Policha of Milwaukee, WI; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Donald in 1974. The funeral service will be held at: The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100, 3:00 P.M., Saturday with Rev. John Brown presiding. Military Rites will be provided under the auspices of V.F.W. Post 8846 and the Michigan Army National Guard. Interment: Laketon Twp. Cemetery. Visitation: one hour prior to the funeral. Memorial: For a more lasting memorial please consider, St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
