Ronald P. Eckert's Obituary
Mr. Ronald P. Eckert, age 78, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 18, 2007 in Grand Rapids. He was born January 20, 1928 in Six Lakes, MI, and lived most of his life in the Muskegon area. He was a very active member of the First Free Methodist Church in Muskegon, having accepted the Lord at the age of 19. Ron owned and operated Eckert’s TV and Radio Repair before retiring, and enjoyed being a HAM radio operator. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Ron married the former Ethel M. Johnson on October 2, 1954. SURVIVORS include his wife, Ethel of Muskegon; 3 children, Bonnie Eckert of Holland, Bruce (Amy) Eckert of Holland, Brent (Ann) Eckert of Rockford, IL; 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; 6 brothers, George (Lucille) Eckert of Plainwell, Elmer (Evelyn) Eckert of Six Lakes, Gail (Roberta) Eckert of Six Lakes, Lawrence (Sharon) Eckert of Morley, John (Alice) Eckert of Six Lakes, Lloyd (Carol) Eckert of Barryton; 2 sisters, Betty Gilbert, June (Lyle) Kimball, both of Six Lakes. He was preceded in death by 1 brother, James Eckert. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Monday at the First Free Methodist Church in Muskegon, 1400 E. Hile Rd., with Rev. Carlos R. Ramos officiating.
