Mr. Ronald "Ron" McFall's Obituary
Mr. Ronald “Ron” McFall, age 76, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the Poppen Residence. He was born August 9, 1936 in Muskegon to Brice and Helen (Knerr) McFall and lived all of his life in the area. Ron was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. On July 6, 1960, he married the former Phyllis M. Hansen in Muskegon. Ron worked nearly 20 years for Terminix, Inc. as an exterminator. Ron and Phyllis were the owners and operators of McFall’s Gas and Grocery for 15 years and later were the owners and operators of Hobbies-4-You until Ron’s retirement in 2000. Ron had a special hobby of metal detecting and was an avid fisherman. He also was an antique car collector and was very proud of his 1927 Model T that was in nearly perfect original condition. SURVIVORS include his wife of 52 years, Phyllis McFall; 2 sons, Kevin (Tina) McFall, Keith (Lisa) McFall; 10 grandchildren, Scott (Lyz) McFall, Stacey McFall, Stephanie (Chris) Stillion, Kevin McFall, Christy McFall, Jessica Deleon, Staci Dempkey, Marty Dempkey, Lauren McFall, Alex McFall; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Evelyn Farmer and Shirley (Dorlan “Duke”) Mavis. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, Ilene Knerr and 2 brothers, Embert and Gerald McFall. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 16, 2013 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey Street, (231) 798-1100, with Chaplain Marilyn Rottschafer officiating. VISITATION will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday and one hour prior to the service, 10-11 AM Saturday, at the funeral home. MILITARY HONORS will be offered by the Muskegon County Council of Veterans and the U.S. Navy National Guard. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be directed to the Poppen Residence of Harbor Hospice.
