Rosalie Frances Bagdol's Obituary
Rosalie Frances Bagdol passed away on Friday November 20, 2020 in Muskegon, MI. Rosalie was born on April 15, 1940 on Middlesex Street in her parents Dearborn home. She is the second child of Elizabeth Czarniecki and Francis Bagdol. She attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and graduated from Girls Catholic Central High School in 1958 in Detroit. Rosalie married Richard Shinske on June 17, 1961 and they had two children. They were divorced in 1976. Rosalie worked for the U.S. Postal Service from 1974 through 2000. She began her career at the post office as a letter carrier and retired as the Post Master in Tecumseh, MI. Rosalie received many commendations for outstanding service during her career. The job she enjoyed the most was an instructor at the Postal Academy in Oakbrook, IL from 1986-1988. She really enjoyed her students and she found gratification as they became better managers. Patrick Potter was her partner for 30 years and they met at the post office. In their retirement, they purchased a motorhome and traveled around the country eventually spending winters in Desert Hot Springs, CA. Rosalie had a green thumb and especially loved her hydrangea garden at their woodsy Glenn, MI home near Lake Michigan. She also loved to travel to Dearborn often to spend time with her grandsons. Rosalie lived in the present enjoying the time she had today. Some of her values were: always praying before bed, singing happy birthday to her family over the phone, giving special, fun and crazy gifts to those she loved, telling people she loved them, listening to music and singing along loudly, and making people laugh with her sense of humor. She loved and enjoyed all God’s creatures but especially dogs and giraffes. She is survived by her son Rob Shinske, daughter-in-law Felicia (Gach), grandsons Nolan and Spencer, daughter Suzanne Tanis and son-in-law Robb, her 17-year-old Havanese dog Pepe and her brother Leonard Bagdol. Rob and Suzanne would also like to thank and acknowledge many others who were part of her small circle especially during the last two years: her nieces Sandy, Melissa and Aria Foley, her stepmom Lillian Bagdol, her half-brother Frank Bagdol and his wife Teresa, her half-sister Charlene and her husband Jim LaBlanc and lifelong friend Loretta (Zaydel) Robichaud. Rosalie did not desire a service. Memorial gifts can be made to: https://giraffeconservation.org/ or https://www.stjo.org/help-native-americans/
