Rosalie "Posie" A. Friend's Obituary
Mrs. Rosalie A. Friend, age 73, passed away Thursday morning, September 27, 2018 at Sanctuary at the Parks, following an extended illness. Rosalie was born February 25, 1945 to George W. Parrish and Mamie (Reed) Parrish in Muskegon, MI. She resided in Grant for the last 46 years. Rosalie “Posie” had been employed at Howmet for several years. She married Alvin L. Friend in Muskegon on April 15, 1967, and he preceded her in death in 2005. Rosalie loved her grandchildren, her dogs, and many hobbies including photography and painting. SURVIVORS include her 2 children; Michael (Bobbi) Friend of Whitehall and Todd (Anita) Friend of Grant; 5 grandchildren, Ryan, Travis, Jessica, Ashley, and Tyler; her brothers Art Parrish and Ken (Christine) Parrish; sister, Winona Parrish; sisters-in-law Linda Parrish, Corky Parrish, and Mary Jane Harris; 1 brother-in-law, William (Mary) Friend; and by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Chuck and George Parrish. SERVICES will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231)726 - 5210 with Pastor John H. Brown, officiating. A private graveside ceremony will take place at Bridgeton Township Cemetery. VISITATION will be from 9-11:00AM, prior to the service.
