Rose Marie Andreasen's Obituary
Rose Marie Andreasen, 91, of Grand Haven, passed away on November 20, 2023, after a short illness. Rose was born in 1932 in Grand Rapids. After graduating from Catholic Central High School, she attended Grand Rapids Junior College. In 1952 she met John Andreasen and they wed in 1954. They lived in the Grand Rapids area until John’s work as a school administrator took them to Hopkins, Michigan, and then to Grand Haven in 1967.
Rose was a stay-at-home mom who dedicated her life to her family encouraging her kids to pursue their educations and their dreams. She was the rock of her family and leaves them with wonderful memories of family gatherings and celebrations. Christmastime and the Coast Guard Festival were of particular importance. Rose was an avid bridge player having been in several bridge groups for well over 50 years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grand Haven, and she was a passionate, life-long Democrat. To the very end of her life, she voiced well thought out opinions and concerns on politics and current events.
She is preceded in death by her husband John, her brother, James Lewis and a baby daughter, Jane Catherine. She is survived by her children, Jon (Betsi) Andreasen, Karen Andreasen, Mary (Brent) Lane and Eric Andreasen; four grandchildren: Michel (Kevin) Green, Jake Andreasen, Emma Lane and Anna Lane.
A private church service will be held. Memorial contributions in memory of Rose can be given to St. Patrick’s-St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Food Pantry or a food pantry of choice. Please sign the family’s online guestbook at http://www.sytsemafh.com.
