Mrs. Rose Ann Becker's Obituary
Rose Ann Becker, 85, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday evening, February 10, 2015. She was born February 22, 1929 to Henry and Vannye (Whitley) Brown in Des Arc, AR, and moved to the Muskegon area in 1946. Rose worked for Consumers Power Credit Union for 18 years before retiring. She was a longtime active member of Lakeside Baptist Church, where she also taught Sunday School. On July 15, 1949 she married Charles “Ken” Becker, and he survives her along with 2 children, Brenda (John) Bol of Jenison, Charles “Chuck” (Christie) Becker of Erlanger, Kentucky; 4 grandchildren, Christopher (Holli) Bol, Lisa Bol, Aaron (Kaitlin) Becker, Matthew Becker; 3 step-grandchildren Katelyn, Rebecca, and Matthew Lyons; 1 great-grandson, Jack Jeffrey Bol; 1 sister, Vannye DuChane of Muskegon; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Virginia Hammond and Marion Jones; 4 brothers, Owen, Walter, Warren, and Joe Brown. The funeral service for Rose will be Saturday, February 14, at 11:00 AM at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565, with Pastor Leslie Lew officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery.
