Rose M. Beckman's Obituary
Rose Mary Beckman, age 80, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023. She was born December 18, 1942 in Reed City to Clark and Mary (Rivette) Whitney. On October 12, 1968, she married Robert J. Beckman in Muskegon and celebrated 54 years together. Rose worked in the cafeteria and as a paraprofessional for Holton Public Schools for 28 years prior to her retirement in 2008. She was a member of Holton United Methodist Church and the Holton American Legion Post 397 Ladies Auxiliary. Over the years she volunteered at the Holton Community Center and served as an EMT for the Holton Fire Department. She was an avid BINGO player and loved to spend time with family and friends. SURVIVORS include her husband, Robert; 3 children: Mary Beckman of Norton Shores, Kenneth (Renee) Beckman of Muskegon, and Christine Beckman of Ludington; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; two sisters: Lois Benning of Shelby and Jodi Minton of Indiana; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rose was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: John Schihl and Clark Whitney. A celebration of Rose’s life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Holton United Methodist Church with Pastor Matt Stoll officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
