Rose Ann Hartman's Obituary
Rose Ann Hartman, age 87, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at her home. She was born July 29, 1935 in Muskegon to Peter and Mary (Szekely) Lakatos. Rose married Arthur E. Hartman on June 11, 1955 in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on September 21, 2006 after 51 years of marriage. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was always up for any travel adventure. She loved spending time in her flower garden and would dance the socks off of you on the polka floor. Her greatest love was her family, especially her little buddy, Jameson. The family would also like to acknowledge her “special angel” caretakers, Karrie Kiel, Marie Ferrier and Sandy VanderSlute who looked after Rose during the day. Survivors includer her 2 daughters, Brenda (Ervin “Chip”) Artlip and Mary Hartman; 1 granddaughter, Lucy (Grant) Clipfell; one great-grandson, Jameson Clipfell and one on the way; 3 brothers, Alec (Delphine) Lakatos, Joseph Lakatos, Dennis (Patsy) Lakatos; and 2 sisters, Margaret Jawor and Theresa (Joe) Kuzniar. She was preceded in death by her husband, Art Hartman; her parents; and 6 siblings, George Lakatos, Peter Lakatos, Mary Nauta, James Lakatos, Veronica Borns, and Erma Jones. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, June 9, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 E. Summit Ave., Muskegon Heights, MI, with Rev. Fr. Douglas A. Braun presiding. Visitation will take place one hour prior to Mass in the Victor Miller Room where the Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 AM Friday. Interment will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery in Fruitport. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Muskegon Right to Life or Catholic Charities West Michigan.
