Rose Mary Klemp's Obituary
Rose Mary Klemp, age 80, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at the Poppen Residence of Harbor Hospice. She was born on December 16, 1945 in Muskegon to Casimir and Stella (Rozycki) Zoromski and lived her entire life in the area. Rose Mary was a Class of 1964 graduate of Muskegon Catholic Central High School. Rose Mary worked as the floral clerk for D & W Grocery Stores for 17 years. She later worked in Medical Records at Norton Family Practice and retired in 2010. Rose Mary was a longtime member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church where she was active with the Rosary Altar Society, the Mary’s Monday Rosary Group and had volunteered for the funeral luncheons.
Rose Mary would like to share this special message for her family and friends:
To my Children: Cancer can kill a person, it cannot kill love. It can only make love grow. Always remember your love for one another. Be there for each other. My love and prayers will always be with you.
To my dear Friends: We have been together for 60+ years. We could not have done this without each other. My love and prayers to each of you. You are The Best. Peace be with you always.
Survivors include her 4 children, Dave (Lynn) Klemp, Dan (Amy) Klemp, Maria (Brian) Churchill, Marty Klemp; 10 grandchildren, Josie (Alex), Miranda, Gabby, Emily (Ryan), Jake, Alani, Tyler, Jake, Max, Maddie; 5 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Ed (Karen) & Family, Marianne (Jim) & Family, Mike & Family; the Babcock, Wcislo, Rozycki, and Wolski Cousins; longtime companion, Bob Thue; special friend, Sr. Maryanne Thue; and her MCC Class of 1964 Ladies, Karen, Peggy, Cathy, Peg, MaryAnne, Susie and Sylvia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Casimir and Stella; 1 brother Edward (Georgiana) Nowak; 1 sister, Dolores Novak; lifelong MCC friend, Colleen; and former spouse, Richard Klemp. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with her cousin, Rev. Fr. Phillip A. Sliwinski presiding at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1716 Sixth Street, Muskegon, MI 49441. Visitation will be held 4-7 PM Monday, January 12, 2026 at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd, Muskegon, MI 49441 where a Scripture Service will begin at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the Mass on Tuesday at the church. Entombment will take place at St. Mary’s Mausoleum. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Harbor Hospice Foundation or the Muskegon Catholic Education Foundation.
