I knew Rose for many years from her time at Roundtree in Ypsilanti. Rose liked our association gatherings and was very hospitable in helping set these up. I have many memories of her and her shih-tzu Rocky who loved Rose as he was her little companion for a long time. Rocky would patiently wait for Rose's return home after errands and greet Rose with hugs like she had been gone for a long time. Rose loved Rocky also and cared for him with such love and kindness. Rose's volunteerism at her Church and the Ypsilanti Thrift Shop were so appreciated. It was nothing for Rose to bake several pies for Church events or other happenings she had going on. She was the best cook and baker! She had lots of energy over the years and would do her own shopping even in the evenings, not asking any of us for help. She was feisty and independent, which were admired traits of Rose's. We missed Rose after she left Roundtree and were glad to celebrate with her in her send off with a party here of friends and neighbors to her next home after her many years in Roundtree. May her family be blessed at this time knowing their love for Rose was appreciated by her. She had so much family and would talk about this lovingly a lot either by her trips of fun adventure or visits from family here in Roundtree. Her kindness lives on in Roundtree as we learned a lot from her with her gifts of hospitality.
