Mrs. Rose A. Paparella's Obituary
Mrs. Rose A. Paparella, age 81, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 at her home. Born April 29, 1934 to Joseph and Agnes (Minarovic) Matovic, she was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. She married Louis J. “Louie” Paparella September 8, 1956 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was a faithful life-long member. Throughout the years Rose served to support several church activities and functions, and was a proud member of the church choir for many years. She also was a member of the First Catholic Slovak Union and served on many committees for that organization as well. Rose loved her garden, loved her friends, and all the activities they shared together, and most of all loved her extensive family. Her SURVIVORS include her sons: John and Kathy of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Joseph and Marlys, and David both of Roosevelt Park, and Richard and Sheryl of Chandler, AZ; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was exceptionally close to her sisters-in-law, Angie (Blaine) Douglas and Marta Langlois, and brothers-in-law, Vincent Paparella and Michael (Beverly) Paparella, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2008; her daughter, Susan Mangiapane and Sue’s husband Dennis Holden; and her sisters, Mary Korson and Pauline Matovic. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL for Mrs. Paparella will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 3, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Antony Britto, SAC officiating, and interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION will be 6-8 P.M. Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231)-798-1100, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 P.M. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to Sacred Heart Catholic Church would be appreciated.
