Mrs. Rose Ann Rey's Obituary
Rose Ann Rey, age 94, of Muskegon passed away Thursday morning, October 16, 2014, at Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was born in Muskegon Heights, MI, January 29, 1920, daughter of the late Lewis and Gazelle Mogdis. Rose Ann was a dedicated member of Sacred Heart Altar Society for fifty years. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Rose Ann was a homemaker for over fifty years and became known for her baking skills. She also worked for Ray & Sharon’s Flower Shop for five years. Rose Ann is preceded in death by her late husband, Frank and daughter, Pamela Rey. SURVIVORS include 2 daughters: Kimberley (Todd) Jelinek of Muskegon, Nancy (Rob) Ptacek of Chesaning, MI; 4 grandchildren: Rachel (Todd) Snyder of Chesaning, Robb Ptacek of Chesaning, Ashely (Matt) Stehouwer of Spring Lake, Heather (fiancé, Mike Witt) Jelinek of Muskegon; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Louie Mogdis of Muskegon, Steve (Julie) Mogdis of Muskegon; and sister, Sister Louisa Mogdis of Grand Rapids. Rose Ann’s family would like to thank the entire staff and doctors at Mercy Hospital, the nurses on three-west, West Shore Urology, nurses at Northcrest Assisted Living and Hillcrest Nursing Home, and a special thanks to Dr. Robert “Matt” Smith. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with the Rev. Fr. Tony Pelak presiding. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS in Rose Ann’s name may be made to the Johnson Cancer Center in Muskegon.
