Rosemary T. Cleveland's Obituary
Mrs. Rosemary T. Cleveland, 76, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 24, 2012 at her residence. Born March 10, 1936 to August and Bernice (Slugaj) Karcinski, she was a life resident of Muskegon. On February 14, 1953 she married Charles Ramon Cleveland, and he survives her. She was currently a member of Temple United Methodist Church, was a former member of Fifth Reformed Church for many years, and worked at Howmet Corp. for 22 years before retiring. Rosemary had a gift for remembering dates and journaling. She loved to travel and teach children in Sunday School and Summer Bible School. Her SURVIVORS include her husband Ray; three children: Steven R. (Michealle) Cleveland, Brenda R. (Bob) Huizenga, and Cindy R. (Don) Terpstra; 18 grandchildren: David (Susan) Cleveland, Michael (Christie) Cleveland, Cherish (Jeff) Thommen, Keith (Kelsey) Terpstra, Kevin (Kristin) Terpstra, Marcie (Pat) VanTol, Katie (Dustin Bauder) Terpstra, Kacey (Adam) Swain, and Christen (Ryan Forth) Huizenga); 17 great-grandchildren plus another great-granddaughter due in February, and many “honorary grandchildren” she loved and who called her “Grandma Rose”. Other survivors include her brothers- and sisters-in-law: Harry, Robert, Jerry and Richard (Julie) Cleveland; Glenna Drummond, Gloria (Al Avdek) Bates, Esther (Keith) Hill, and Judy McPheron; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and parents-in-law, a brother Eugene Karcinski; a sister Irene Strasser; two sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law. The FUNERAL SERVICE for Mrs. Cleveland will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Temple United Methodist Church, 2500 Jefferson St., Muskegon Heights, MI 49444 with Rev. Jeff Bowman officiiating and interment in Laketon Township Cemetery. VISITATION with her family will be 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Friday, October 26, 2012 at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441, phone 231-759-8565, and from 12 Noon to 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Church.
