Rosemary "Rosie" Schmidt's Obituary
Rosemary “Rosie” Schmidt, age 93, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021 at Heartwood Lodge in Spring Lake. Rosie was born April 17, 1928, to Rudolph and Louise (Fuchs) Bueckers. On October 21, 1947, she married the love of her life, Kenneth D. Schmidt in Waukesha, WI and he preceded her in death on June 20, 2017, just a few months shy of their 70th wedding anniversary. Rosie worked as a secretary for Kaydon Corporation for 33 years prior to retirement in 1992. She was a longtime member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church where she sang in the choir and served as a cantor. She sang with the “Melodears” for many years and was passionate about music. Rosie and Ken were both active in Muskegon Civic Opera for several years. Rosie also volunteered her time at Mercy Hospital. She was a spirited and strong-willed person and would do anything for those in need. She was loyal to her family and friends and loved them dearly. She is survived by her son Kenneth “Kim” Schmidt. Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, Ken; her son, Kevin Schmidt; a sister, Margaret Fox; and her parents. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1100 Dykstra Road with Rev. Fr. Godfrey Onyekwere presiding. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the Mass. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Prince of Peace Catholic Church Memorial Fund. Interment will be in Seven Dolors Church Cemetery in Albany, MN.
