RoseMary Simpkins' Obituary
RoseMary Simpkins of Spring Lake, Michigan passed away on January 14th, 2022 in Muskegon, Michigan at 82 years of age.
RoseMary was born April 7th, 1939 to Dick and Delia Vanderstelt. She attended Muskegon Heights High School and graduated from Hackley Nursing School with a Bachelors degree in Nursing. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts, graduating Summa cum lade at Western Michigan University. Rosemary taught nursing at Muskegon Community College for 30 years.
RoseMary married Melvin Simpkins on July 31st, 1959. They were born four days apart at Mercy Hospital. She and Melvin attended Shores Community Church since 1965. They did short term missionary work at Santisuk Ministry as English teachers in Thailand.
RoseMary is preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Delia and her brother, Joe. She is survived by her husband Melvin of 62 years; her three children, Tom and Michele Simpkins, Todd and Kelly Simpkins, and Teresa Couch; her siblings, Larry Vanderstelt and Ruth and Dan Schweitzer; followed by her grandchildren, Brianna and Mike Livingood, Meagan Simpkins, Lauren and Dylan Crouse, Maddie McCarthy, Tanya and Thomas Hoover, Crystal Simpkins, Sherry Simpkins, Jennifer Kopenski, Danielle Valles, and Michael Stevenson, as well as 11 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on January 19th 2022 at 10:30 A.M. at Shores Community Church located at 3800 Lake Harbor Road, Norton Shores, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shores Community Church.
