Roxanne L. Johnson- Rusco's Obituary
Roxanne Lynette Johnson-Rusco, age 47, died Wednesday afternoon, August 12, 2015, at her home, following a yearlong battle with leukemia. She was born June 22, 1968 in Muskegon and had been a life resident of the area. Roxanne was a LPN, working the last 15 years at Brookhaven Medical Care. She loved camping with her family, the patients she cared for, and animals in general; but, especially her dogs. She is survived by her husband, James; two sons, Logan and Cooper Rusco; her parents, Nancy Vanderleest and Torger (Gertrude) Johnson I; 2 sisters, Aerin (Bruce) Graves of Kingsley, MI, Kolina Backstrom of Oscoda, MI; 1 brother, Torger (Dana) Johnson II of Muskegon; 8 nieces and nephews, Owen, Eli and Lucy Graves, Aiden, Kingsley and Liam Backstrom and Tanner and Torger Johnson III; father and mother-in-law, Boyd and Sharon Rusco, grandmother, Winifred Spedoske; step-father, Wilfred “Bill” (Sonja) Dykstra; numerous aunts and uncles among whom are a special aunt and uncle, Sue and Tom Williams; and by her best friend, Kealy (Greg) Sander of GA. Roxanne was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jacob Johnson (2009) and David Dykstra (1989). A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, August 20, 2015 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI (231-798-1100) with Pastor John H. Brown officiating. VISITATION with Roxanne’s family will be 6-8:00 PM Wednesday.
