Roxanne M. Ward's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Roxanne M. Ward, who left us on November 29, 2024. She was born on November 16, 1960, to Richard “Mick” and Hazel (Goodman) Major in Muskegon. Roxanne was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, sister, grandmother, and soon to be great-grandmother. Her presence in this world was a gift to all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
Roxanne’s life was defined by love – love for her family, love for friends, and love for life itself. She had a unique gift for making every moment feel special, particularly when it came to holiday gatherings. Halloween was one of her favorites, and she took great joy in hosting fun celebrations where she would spoil all the children with homemade treats. Her cookies and fudge became family traditions, always filled with warmth and sweetness, just like Roxanne herself.
Above all, Roxanne’s greatest love was her husband, Joe. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and many cherished memories, surrounded by the companionship of their beloved dogs. Her love for Joe was a testament to her devotion and unwavering commitment.
On November 2, 1990, she married Joseph Ward, and he survives her along with her daughter, Maria (James) Whitener; two grandchildren, Justyna and Daniel Whitener; brother, Leon (Betty) Major; mother-in-law, Carol Ward, numerous other family members and friends.
Roxanne’s infectious smile and generous spirit lit up every room she entered and her legacy of love, joy, and kindness will live on through the many lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Roxanne’s honor on Sunday, December 8, 2024, for family and friends from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Crestwood United Methodist Church (1220 Creston St., 49442.) Share memories with the family at www.sytsemafh.com.
