Roxanne H. "Roxi" Wever's Obituary
Roxanne H. “Roxi” Wever, age 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 16, 1944, in Grand Rapids, MI to Marian Deshko and the late Wallace Deshko. At the age of four, Roxi and her family made Muskegon their home, where her mother later found love again. Roxi was blessed with a devoted stepfather, Donald Veitenheimer, who proudly took on the role of dad. Roxi graduated from Muskegon High School, Class of 1962. On March 7, 1964, she married the love of her life, James Wever, in Muskegon. Together they shared 43 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and cherished family golf nights. Jim preceded her in death on July 8, 2007. Roxi dedicated over 30 years of service to the City of Muskegon in various roles, retiring in 2007 as a housing inspector. Outside of work, Roxi lived a vibrant life. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, but her true passion was golf. She and Jim, along with their family, were longtime members of Lincoln Golf Course. Known for her sharp mind and playful spirit, Roxi was a card shark, an avid reader, and a crossword puzzle whiz, especially when it came to tackling the New York Times puzzles. She treasured her time with friends at both the Eagles and Vikings, where she was a proud member. Above all, Roxi will be remembered for her incredible generosity and the way she cared deeply for those she loved. Whether it was making sure your favorite foods were ready for a visit or simply being present when it mattered most, Roxi’s warmth and thoughtfulness were constants in the lives of her family and friends. She cherished her grandchildren and adored her great-grandchildren beyond measure. Time spent with them brought her immeasurable joy and never failed to light up her day. Roxi’s legacy of love, loyalty, and laughter will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her three children, Todd (Janelle) Wever, Tanya (Michael) Birr and Tiffany (Jeffrey) Pitts; 10 grandchildren, Andrew (Jenn) Birr, Justin (Jordan) Birr, Meghan (Charlie) Schafer, Tyler (Cayla) Pitts, Kelsey (Scott) Kassner, Dylan (Mia Wedel) Pitts, Nichole (Kenneth) Rewalt, Jarred Wever, Colin (Emma) Wever and Seth Wever; 14 great-grandchildren, Owen Birr, Lawson Birr, Easton Birr, Eleanor Birr, Micah Schafer, Benton Pitts, Blaire Pitts, Penelope Kassner, Dallas Suarez, Damien Suarez, Jace Rewalt, Christopher Allen, Degan Wever and Waylon Wever; brother-in-law, Stanley (Elaine) Wever; sister-in-law, Donna (Art Millis) Hren; special friends; Ardyce, Sue, Oneata and Pat; and cherished extended family.
