My sympathy to the entire Shields family. Roy was such an encouragement and advocate to me as I started my Criminal Justice career. He was such a fabulous instructor and mentor and I always valued his wise opinion and insight. I'm grateful for the opportunity to have been guided by him. Karen and kids, please know how sorry I am for your loss. In sympathy, Melia (DeMeester) Phelps
Having just gone through this myself, no words can make the pain go away. However insted of being sad, we should be thankful of the time spent with him. As christians we should not say goodbye, we should insted say "see you later" for someday we will all see each other again. You a re all in my prayers. All My Best, Brian Hoeker
My deepest sympathies to the Shields family.
I was saddened to hear the news about Roy. I will miss seeing him and chatting with him over coffee at the Dee-Lite.

Karen and family.
Our prayers are with you.
Growing up with Roy in Spring was a blast, we were always in mischief, Roy, Chuck and I would have BB gun fights, could only shot at our legs. Roy was always in the office in grade school. When we went to GH high school we would run to the bridge then hitch hike across the bridge home. I have lots of fond memories of our childhood.
Sorry we can not come down tomorrow. Our thoughts will be with you.
