Roy Strayer's Obituary
Roy Strayer, age 83, passed away Wednesday morning, March 15, 2017. He was born August 1, 1933 in Muskegon, MI to Clyde and Nellie (Tatro) Strayer. Roy was a retired cabinet maker for American Store Equipment and had also been a mason. He loved hot rods and belonged to the West Michigan Street Rod Association. Roy also enjoyed his garden, going fishing, restoring old tractors, horses, and could spend all day tinkering in his garage. SURVIVORS include his daughter, Rebecca (Douglas) Havermans, and son, John (Darcy) Strayer both of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; 3 brothers: Duane (Bette) Strayer of Fruitport, Dale Strayer of Hesperia, and Ron (Vicki) Strayer of Fruitport; sister, Arlene Leatherman of Ohio; sister-in-law, Carol Strayer of Muskegon Heights; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his life-long partner, Joyce Lund; 2 brothers, Carlton and Gerald Strayer, and sister, Myrna Hodges.
