Rubietta Ruth Gray's Obituary
Rubietta Ruth Gray, age 71, passed away Monday June 15, 2020. She was born September 10, 1948 in Muskegon to Leonard and Ruby (McGrady) Klootwyk. Rubietta worked over 20 years as a home health aide and retired in 2004. She was a feisty, strong-willed “Ray of Sunshine” who lived life with spunk. Rubietta enjoyed crocheting and had a harmless addiction to Joanne’s Fabrics. She was a generous and caring mother, grandmother and friend. Rubietta enjoyed the outdoors, feeding wildlife, including the birds, cats, squirrels, deer and even a woodchuck. She loved to go fishing and had a special place for dolphins – although she appreciated all nature’s creatures. Rubietta was “one of a kind” and will be greatly missed by her loving family, friends and all who knew her. Survivors include 3 daughters, Rebecca (Pete) Hoch, Tammy (Steve) McDaniel, Catherine (Steve Coultas) Gray; 2 grandsons, Joshua Gray, Mason McDaniel; 1 brother, Bill (Gini Jones) Klootwyk; and special friend, Laurie (Jeff) Lowder and her children, Emily (Lee) Vanderstelt, Noah (Amy) Lowder, and Ember Lowder. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Frank Klootwyk. To honor Rubietta’s life, there will be a private family gathering. Those wishing to remember Rubietta are asked to make a donation to The Noah Project (www.noahprojectmuskegon.org) which is a “no-kill” animal shelter in Muskegon. Arrangements handled by The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444.
