Russell G. Hendrie's Obituary
Russell G. Hendrie, age 86, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at the Poppen Residence. He was born on July 24, 1936 in Niagara Falls, NY to Gordon and Marion (Jones) Hendrie and resided in the Muskegon area since 1958. Russ was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked for Zephyr Inc. for 20 years prior to retiring. Russ enjoyed working in his yard, and had a deep interest in reading history books and finance. Russ had long attended Anchor Point Church (formerly Berean), as it has been a rock for them throughout the years. On June 17, 1961 he married the former Annette Anderson, and after 56 years of marriage she preceded him in death on November 27, 2017. SURVIVORS include four children and ten grandchildren: Dave (Lynne) Hendrie and their children, Jon, Kate, Abby (Seth) Christopher and Anna (Brandon) Grainger; Steve (Kelly) Hendrie and their daughter Maddie; Pam (Eric) Marcott and their children, Erin, Delaney (Eliot) Crane and Luke; and Mike (Denise) Hendrie and their daughters, Olivia and Sophie. Russ was also preceded in death by his sister, Edyth DeWitt. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11 AM Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Anchor Point Church (635 Seminole Rd) with Dr. Rob Renberg officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service, from 10-11AM. Burial will take place in Fruitport Cemetery.
