Russell J. Olsen's Obituary
On Christmas morning, December 25, 2014, Russ left us and the cares of this world behind, to join his beloved father, mother and sisters and begin his next adventure. Russ lived his whole life in the Muskegon area. He was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne during WWII. He retired in 1981, and spent many years roaming fence lines and railroad tracks, looking for barb wire and date nails to trade at shows. In 1995, he was inducted into the Barbed Wire Hall of Fame at the Barbed Wire Museum in LaCrosse, Kansas. He is survived by his daughter, Pam Olsen (Claude) Vaillancourt; sons Dale (Sherry) Lue and David Lue; grandson Brian Lue, and granddaughter Erica Lue. He was the best father and friend we could have ever asked for, and he is now free - to once again wander the country tracks that he missed so much. He will be loved and missed always.
