Russell S. Houck's Obituary
Mr. Russell Stewart Houck, age 95, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2007. Mr. Houck was born December 19, 1911 to Fred G. and Ada (Colley) Houck in Boyne City, MI. On June 25, 1932, he married the love of his life, Emma Bruhn and she preceded him in death on May 31, 2002. Mr. Houck was employed as a machinist and later a foreman at Continental Motors for 32 years before retiring in 1972. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as deacon. Russell enjoyed building model cars and useful gadgets. His SURVIVORS include his daughter, Priscilla (Donald) Oemick of Carrollton, GA; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, and many great-great grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to dear friend and caregiver, Chuck Johnson and special relatives, Stan Houck, Pat Barrett and Carol Houck. Russell was also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Ellen Bacon; 1 brother and 2 sisters. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Monday, August 20, 2007 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Fred R. Halde officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Mona View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hackley VNS Hospice.
