Russell Stuart Cooper's Obituary
Mr. Russell Stuart Cooper, age 88 passed away Thursday, December 15, 2005 in a local nursing home. He was born in Muskegon on August 20, 1917 to Rinder and Kathryn (Stuit) Cooper. Mr. Cooper was raised by his Aunt Kate, after his mother passed away in 1918 from influenza, which was the first reported case in Muskegon. He had been a member of Central Reformed Church where he served as elder and deacon and for the past 10 years was a member of Unity Reformed Church. He worked for Brunswick as an inspector of pinsetters for 43 years, prior to his retirement in 1981. He graduated from Muskegon High School and then went on to Muskegon Business College. On August 20, 1949 he married Virginia L. Shannon in Muskegon. He is survived by his wife Virginia, 1 son, Kim (Sandy) Cooper, 2 grandchildren, Trevor (Stephanie) Cooper and Kelly Wabeke, 1 great-grandchild Carson Cooper, 2 nephews and 5 nieces. SERVICE will be 1:00 PM Monday at the The Walburn Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.1547 W. Sherman Blvd.with Pastor Kyle DeYoung officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 PM Sunday.
