Mrs. Ruth Marie Archer's Obituary
Mrs. Ruth Marie Archer, a kind and loving soul, age 88, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, December 6, 2015 at the Poppen Residence. Ruth was born July 4, 1927, in Ashton, Iowa to Nicholas and Clara (Seivert) Strouth. On August 25, 1951, she married Robert M. Archer in Ashton. Bob preceded her in death on January 20, 2002. Ruth was a homemaker and worked as a lunch lady for the Muskegon Public Schools for several years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, where she had been active in the Ladies Guild. Ruth was also a member of VFW Post 446, the DAV, and Johnson Hall Northside Seniors. She is survived by her children, Nick Archer and Catherine (Stan) Bracey of Muskegon; daughter-in-law, LeeAnne Archer; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Ann Nasers of Worthington, MN; sister-in-law, Irene Strouth; a brother-in-law, Lou Ripperger; several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws; and a special friend, Janet Metcalf. In addition to her husband Robert, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Frank; sister, Virginia; grandson, Nicholas Robert Archer Jr; daughter-in-law, Brenda Archer; brother, James Strouth; and brother-in-law, Roy Nasers. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 1:00 PM Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church 451 S. Getty St. with Rev. Fr. Michael Olson and Rev. Fr. Matthew J. Barnum concelebrating. VISITATION will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave, 231-726-5210, with the Rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM.
