Mrs. Ruth A. Harkness' Obituary
Mrs. Ruth A. Harkness, forever young at heart, went to be with her Lord on Monday, July 7, 2014. She was born in Muskegon on May 22 to Ray and Marie (LeFebvre) Chambers and was a life resident of the area. Ruth loved her family and cherished spending time with them. She enjoyed camping, yard sales, casinos, the beach, and was an avid Michigan State fan. She had worked for several years at Lorin Industries and most recently at Scent-Lok. On June 21, 1986, Ruth married David Harkness and he survives her along with her daughter, Kristin M. (Paul) Abair; her grandson, Devin P. Rakowski; one brother, Robert (Pat) Chambers; four sisters, Lorraine LeMieux, Lorna Rozyski, Nancy (Harvey) Paquin and Gini Couch and special niece and caregiver, Amy LeMieux. She was preceded in death by her parents. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 1:00 PM Thursday, July 10, 2014 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., 231-759-8565 with Pastor Larry Terlouw officiating. VISITATION will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, please consider The Johnson Family Cancer Center, Mercy VNS and Hospice or Heartland Hospice of Grand Rapids.
