Ruth Mae MacKeller's Obituary
Ruth Mae MacKeller, age 84, passed on Friday, March 2, 2018, at home.
She was born to Hattie (Prough) and Clarence Krumlauf on July 23, 1933, in Kalkaska, MI. In 1950 she married John MacKeller in Kalkaska, MI.
She was a gifted person who could make friends with everyone, and was always helping people just like her mother did. She would make crafts and give them out to everyone she saw. She loved going to eat at the Rendezvous restaurant and they treated her like a Queen. She enjoyed being with family and friends. She and her husband, John would travel to Arizona for the winter months where her daughter and family live.
We want to thank all of the Doctors and staff at Johnson Cancer Center, NOCH, Mercy Hospital, in home Nursing/Rehab and the wonderful staff at Riverside Rehab Center. Again, they all gave her special care as she worked on her handmade crafts and gave them out to the staff on a regular basis.
Special thanks also to the Grand Haven Township emergency responders, firefighters, NOCH ambulance team and the Ottawa County Sheriff Department.
Ruth will be greatly missed by her husband, John, of Grand Haven; son, David MacKellar of Spring Lake; son, Daniel (Janet) MacKeller of Grand Haven; daughter, Lynda (Terry) Bloomquist of Arizona; son, Randy MacKeller of Marne, MI; son, Donald (Christine) MacKeller of Grand Haven; son, Chris (Angela) MacKeller of Grand Haven; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Catherine Blakely and Alvin Krumlauf; daughter-in-law, Charlene (Peters) MacKellar; 2 great-grandsons, Drew Stille and Sabastian MacKeller.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services – The VanZantwick Chapel with Chaplain Duane Smith officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Lakeshore Cemetery. Memorials to the Johnson Family Center for Cancer Care are appreciated.
