My grandma-she Could do anything. Wasn’t afraid of anything-killing a spider when I was just a terrified little girl to driving to Florida all by herself ( at the age of over 70), changing a tire, knocking out part of a wall, and she was not afraid of hard work. She did what had to get done and knew how to do so much. I was often in awe of her. She wasn’t afraid of dying or at least didn’t show it. She assured us all she’d lived a good long life and if it was her time to go, it was her time to go.
The most important thing my fearless, capable grandma taught me and showed me was her unselfish love. She looked out for and loved her family selflessly. She took care of us all in so many ways many that I’m just beginning to realize now that she’s gone. And she loved doing it, nothing gave her more pleasure than to see her loved ones happy and taken care of. She was the best cook and card player around. When I was younger I thought she was just lucky, but no she was just that good. I know I could’ve used a couple more lessons in both of those areas. She holds such a special place in my heart that nothing could replace. I looked up to her in so many ways and cherish the safety and comfort of my grandma’s love. It’s so hard to lose someone that you know loved you more than themself. I will miss her dearly and hope shes enjoying her reunion in heaven with grandpa and grandma Hippchen and aunt Charlotte and others I never got to meet and I know she lives on in us with our memories. My grandma was the best and I will love her forever and always.
