Mrs. Ruth Marie Ritter's Obituary
Mrs. Ruth Marie Ritter, age 93, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017. Ruth was born June 14, 1923 to Andrew and Charlotte (Dahlson) Nelson in Muskegon. Ruth was a 1941 graduate of Muskegon High School. On September 17, 1948, she married Raymond Ritter. Ruth had worked for the Muskegon Area Chamber of Commerce prior to her marriage and later became a bookkeeper at Curtis-Ferrell for many years prior to retirement. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and a past member of the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed sewing, reading and gardening. Ruth will be greatly missed by Raymond, her husband of 68 years; her daughter, Diana (Jim Franckowiak) Iversen of Muskegon and her son, David (Barbara) Ritter of Holland; 2 grandchildren, Laura (Tom) Johnson and Chad Greenert; 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Mildred Dunham and Alice Nelson. A PRIVATE FUNERAL SERVICE was held Thursday, March 9, 2017 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave, 231-726-5210 with Rev. Mark Miller officiating. A private visitation time with the family was held Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Burial has taken place in Lakeside Cemetery.
