Ruth M. Ruby's Obituary
Ruth M. Ruby, 96, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018, in Muskegon. She was born December 10, 1921 to George L. and Mary M. (Korn) Ruby in Ludington and moved to the Muskegon area in 1940. Ruth worked for Rooks Transfer for 40 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, a member of the Catholic Daughters, and volunteered for both the Red Cross and the Frauenthal Center. Survivors include several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother: Robert Ruby; 1 sister: Rosemary Sleak; and her sister-in-law: Sophie Ruby. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 22, at 2:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 239 Clay Ave., Muskegon, 49440, with the Rev. Fr. Matthew Barnum presiding. Burial will take place at Pere Marquette Cemetery in Ludington. Visitation at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, 49441, (231) 759-8565, will be from 5-7 PM Wednesday evening, with the Rosary prayed at 4:30 PM Wednesday. You may visit the family’s online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com.
