Ruth Elizabeth Stowe's Obituary
Ruth Elizabeth Stowe, age 86, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at her home. She was born June 4, 1935 in Tyronza, AR to Lester “Leon” and Ruth (Bynum) Rodgers and lived most of her life in the area. On July 22, 1954, she married Frank Stowe in Newport, AR and he preceded her in death on July 10, 1999. Ruth worked at Haworth, Inc. for 12 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed reading, sewing, sports – especially basketball and baseball, and visiting with family and friends. Ruth accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 15 in McCroy, AR. She was currently a member of Broadway Baptist Church where she volunteered in the nursery and was a Sunday School teacher and brought meals to the sick. Ruth’s final words for her family, “Love you all, please meet me in heaven.” Survivors include her daughter, Betty (Gary) Rasmussen; 4 grandchildren, Ken (Marie) McCarty, James McCarty, Melissa Malmgren, Amanda Rasmussen; 2 great-grandchildren, Haley Rasmussen, Ryden Malmgren; 3 brothers, Boyce Rodgers, Lee (Paula) Rodgers, Charles (Asmaa) Rodgers; 2 sisters, Jean (Don) Castner, Mary (Richard) Hattox; 1 sister-in-law, Edna Carlton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; and 1 son, Harrell Stowe; her parents; 1 brother, Jim Rodgers; and 1 sister, Opal Baumgarner. A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Broadway Baptist Church (2680 S. Oak St., Muskegon, MI 49444) with Pastor Brian R. Jackson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Lakeshore Cemetery in Grand Haven.
