Ruth Tamblyn touched many individuals along her life's journey with her geniune interest in and kindness towards others. I had the good fortune to meet her during her stay at Chestnut Fields when my own mother, Bontje Achterhoff, was also a resident. Ruth was always willing to spend time with my mother to visit and talk. On occassion, I would bring pie to share with all the residents and Ruth would join my mother and I as we made deliveries to everyone. Her favorite kind of pie was Key Lime. She always hated to request it because she did not think that others would enjoy it like she did. Bringing her a slice of Key Lime Pie ensured a great smile and an enormous thank you. It was always a pleasure to visit with Ruth.
My most sincere sympathy to the family at this most difficult time. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
