Ruth Ellen Walker's Obituary
Mrs. Ruth Ellen Walker, age 87, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 in Muskegon, Michigan. She was born in Muskegon on July 16, 1936 to Clifford and Bernice (Thompson) Wood. Ruth married Ray Walker on May 29, 1968. She started her career at Clarke Floor Machine and later was employed as an Accounts Payable Clerk at Senior Resources for 20 years prior to her retirement in 2017. Ruth attended Word of Hope Church and enjoyed meeting with her weekly coffee and lunch group at Egelcraft Community. She was an excellent baker and was known for her famous peanut brittle. Most importantly, Ruth treasured her family, and they brought her the most joy. She is survived by her children, Marsha (Dan) Berg, Mike (Lane) Walker, Mary (Dennis) Austin, Joyce Wiseman, Margaret (Chuck Whitlow) Vincent, Marva (Chuck) Brackenrich, and Debbie (Dave) Moser; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; her sister, Shirley (Dick) Brooks; and her dear friend of 82 years, Delores Sprague. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Walker; her parents; brother, Clifford Wood; and sister, Delores Letherby. A PRIVATE FAMILY SERVICE will be held at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
