Ruth Margaret Ricks' Obituary
Ruth Margaret Ricks, age 96, of Spring Lake went to be with her Lord and Savior on a beautiful Sunday morning, April 11, 2010, at Grand Pines Assisted Living Center. She was born October 22, 1913, in Mulberry, Kansas, to George and Margaret (Bertino) Guenther, and she married Bernard Ricks on September 28, 1946, in Bowling Green, Ohio. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2002.
Mrs. Ricks was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Grand Haven, P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter DS, and the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Michal (Rich) Wheeler of Grand Haven; two sons, Dr. Jeffrey (Patricia) Ricks of Charlevoix, MI, and Jonathan (Dr. Natalie Gonzales) Ricks of Helena, Montana; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, William, in 2006, and three brothers: Harold, Lee, and Robert Guenther.
The service for Ruth will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010, at First Presbyterian Church in Grand Haven with Rev. Thomas Cook presiding. Interment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Ruth’s name may be made to the P.E.O. Scholarship Fund at the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation.
