Sadie L. Cotter's Obituary
Mrs. Sadie L. Cotter, age 92, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning, May 19, 2005 at home. She was born June 2, 1912 to Elisha and Minnie (Lodewyk) Farr in McBain, MI, and moved to the Whitehall and Muskegon areas in 1937. She worked for Meijers for 15 years before retiring. Mrs. Cotter was a member of the Berean Church since 1985, and was formerly a longtime member of the Lakewood Union Chapel, where she was the church pianist, the pianist for the children’s programs, and a Sunday School teacher. She also loved gardening. On April 11, 1931 she married Dennis Cotter, who preceded her in death in 1960. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Larry (Marge) Cotter of Muskegon, Louise (Ronald) Stong of Twin Lake; 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Beulah Farr of McBain. She was also preceded in death by her first-born son, Dennis Cotter in 1936 at the age of 16 months; her parents, Minnie in 1934 and Elisha in 1928; 6 brothers, Richard, James, and Burk in 1934, William in 1961, Anno in 1991, and Charles in 1997. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at
Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.,737 Apple Ave.,(231) 726-5210 with Rev. Dwight Reed officiating. VISITATION with the family will be from 1 hour prior to the service.
