Samuel Allen Katt's Obituary
Sam A. Katt of Spring Lake passed away on January 12, 2026, in Spring Lake, MI. He was born to Jack and Margaret (VanLeeuwen) Katt on February 21, 1962, in Grand Haven, MI. Sam had a love for boating and fishing for walleye in Canada with a group of his friends. He also loved hunting birds whether it was upland or waterfowl. Sam had 3 labs Remington, Decoy and Otis that he put a lot of training into for bird hunting. He enjoyed snow and water skiing and would travel land and sea for nice little getaway vacations. He was very smart and took pride in being an electrician. He loved his job fixing and repairing electrical panels, machines and laying out where machines and equipment were going to go and would set it up. He was determined and was able to fix anything that came in his path. In the summer he loved water skiing and bare foot skiing on Lloyd’s Bayou in Spring Lake where he was born and raised. Always on the move and always getting stuff done he was an amazing father, and a well-loved part of the family. Sam is survived in death by his daughter: Jenna Katt; brother: Mark (Candace) Katt; sister: Jesse (Keith) Vandyke and their children Jake (Chrissy) Vandyke, Ben (Brook) Vandyke; sister: Leah (Ned) Junor and their sons: Peter (Hannah) Junor, Scott Junor; brother-in-law: Phil Rhodes and son: Matthew Kitchen; brother-in-law: Art (Marilyn) Bolt and Art’s children : James Bolt; and daughter Ann Kaemingk: He is preceded in death by his parents: Jack and Margaret Katt and sisters: Sara Rhodes and Mary Bolt.
