Mrs. Sandra D. "Sandy" Francis' Obituary
Mrs. Sandra D. “Sandy” Francis, 57, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 24, 2014 in Grand Rapids. Born June 23, 1957 to Douglas and Alice (Batten) Beachum, she was a life resident of Muskegon. Sandy had been employed as a Mercy Associate for Mercy Health Partners the last 15 years. She was an active member of Friendship Wesleyan Church, where she had been a Board member, and was involved in Kids’ Club and Sunday School. She married Marvin K. Francis and he survives her along with her children: Nathan Timmerman, Kimberly Timmerman, Tonya (Kenneth) Lavinge, Autumn Francis and Felisha Francis; step-daughters: Melinda Tanis and Sherry Francis; 13 grandchildren; a brother, Alan (Kathy) Beachum; and sisters Dianna (Dennis) Radel and Donna (James) Wright. Sandy and Marv were involved in several children’s lives as foster parents, and later as adoptive parents. Sandy loved to take care of her kids—she had a big heart for her family; and she also loved her church and church family as well. VISITATION will be 12:30 to 1:30 P.M., one hour prior to A FUNERAL SERVICE for Sandy at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Friendship Wesleyan Church, 1761 N. Roberts Rd., with Rev. Chad Fessenden officiating. Interment will be in S. Ferry Cemetery, Shelby. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to Friendship Wesleyan Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated.
