Sandra L. Green's Obituary
Sandra “Sandy” L. Green, age 80, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at American House in Spring Lake. She was born April 12, 1942 in Grand Rapids, MI to George and Bernice (Northouse) Spaman. On April 21, 1960, she married Richard “Dick” M. Green in Grand Rapids and he preceded her in death on November 20, 2002. Sandy worked at Gospel Films and later worked for Zelenka Nursery. She was a member of Ferrysburg Community Church where she served on the Church Council, was a Deaconess, and volunteered in many capacities over the years. She also volunteered at Stillwater Springs Condo Complex where she had resided many years, and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and Reach for Recovery. Sandy enjoyed traveling – especially in their motorhome to places in North Michigan, Harbor Springs and Disney World. She also enjoyed water and walking and watching sunsets. The family would like to acknowledge the nursing staff at American House where she received excellent and comforting care. Survivors include her daughter, Michelle (Randy) Hazekamp; her granddaughter, Samantha “Sam” (Cody) Wilburn; 2 great-grandchildren, Skylar and Riley Wilburn; her brother, Tom (Nancy) Spaman; a niece and 3 nephews; and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Green and her parents. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, September 9, 2022 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444, with Pastor Nate Visker officiating.
