Sandra Hallenbeck's Obituary
Mrs. Sandra Hallenbeck, age 78, of Spring Lake passed away Monday, October 17, 2016 at Mercy Hospital. She was born August 18, 1938 in Kalamazoo to Raymond and Helen (Harvey) Collette. Sandra met Phillip Hallenbeck in high school in 1952 and they were married on May 17, 1958 in Grand Haven.
Her first job was a telephone operator for Michigan Bell. She was also a legal secretary, an office manager, and a bookkeeper for a local building company.
Sandra enjoyed bowling, golfing, working on crossword puzzles, dancing and playing cards. She also was avid football fan and enjoyed watching the Michigan Wolverines and the Detroit Lions. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Phillip; three children: Phippi (Tom) Garrison of Spring Lake, Pamela (David) Miller of Charleston, SC., Phillip Jr. (Lois) Hallenbeck of Grand Haven; nine grandchildren; sister, Jackelyn (Rick) Dupuis, brothers, Michael (Deb) Colette, and Dale (Helen) Waldo; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kelbe Jecha, and sister Elaine LaFrance.
A memorial visitation will be held Monday, October 24, 2016 from 5-7 PM at the VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Chapel in Spring Lake. Memorial contributions in memory of Sandra may be given to the American Cancer Society. Please sign the family’s online guestbook at www.vbkfuneralhome.com.
