Sandra Haskins-Knight's Obituary
Mrs. Sandra L. Haskins-Knight, age 74, passed away at her home in Muskegon on Friday, June 3, 2022. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 8, 1947 to Bernard and Donna (Schroeder) Haskins. She lived in Florida for most of her childhood before moving back to Michigan and graduating from Lakeshore High School in St. Clair. Sandra worked in the medical field for the State of Michigan for over 27 years prior to her retirement in 2005. She was an avid reader and was involved in several book clubs and Bible study groups. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, and collecting movies. Sandra was a foodie and fantastic cook, but she disliked anything cherry. She held a special place in her heart for cats and rescued many over the years. On December 18, 1992, she married the love of her life, Alan “Butch” Knight and he preceded her in death on October 19, 2000. She is survived by two children, Donna (Clarence Shaw) DeBlauwe and Danelle (Allen Twining) Dushane; three stepchildren, Harry (Pam) Knight, Richard Knight, and Chris (Sarah) Knight; nine grandchildren; two great-grandsons; two nieces, Amy Rogers and Kristin Hinde; her godchildren, Gregory Foster and Kendra Foster; and her dear friend, Evyette Foster. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Frank DeBlauwe; her parents; and brother, Michael Haskins. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Sandra will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 9, 2022 at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442 with her godson, Gregory Foster officiating. VISITATION with her family will be one hour prior to her service.
