Sandra Kay Mack's Obituary
Sandra Kay Mack passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 18, 2018 at the age of 63.
Sandy was born October 27, 1954 in Grand Haven. She was the second of five children born to Robert Henry and Rosella Frances (VanderKlok) Lampson.
Sandy graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1972. She continued her education at Muskegon Community College. Sandy worked as a Registered Nurse for many years dedicating her professional life to caring for the elderly. Sandy was currently employed at Down To Earth in Grand Haven - her “just for giggles” fun job.
Sandy married James Michael Mack on August 12, 1978. Jim was Sandy’s high school sweetheart. They were married 30 years and together raised three beautiful daughters. He preceded her in death on August 26, 2008.
Sandy loved fashion, traveling, and CSI shows. She had a big personality that filled a room. Sandy had a silly nickname for everyone and referred to complete strangers as “doll face” “sweetheart” and “honey.” Sandy took special pride in styling customers at Down To Earth. Always in pursuit of the perfect outfit – Sandy would find one that accommodated the customer’s budget, suited the occasion, and made the customer feel like a million dollars. Sandy absolutely adored her Down To Earth work friends and enjoyed spending time with them. Sandy passionately loved her family. Her three daughters were her pride and joy – her world. Sandy stayed close to her four siblings speaking with each of them almost daily. The great love of Sandy’s life was her mother. She referred to her mother as “my rock” and “my best friend.”
Sandy is lovingly remembered by her three daughters Kristen Mack of Grand Haven, Carrie Mack of Grand Haven, and Alicia (Chris) Mankowski of Rockford. Sandy is also lovingly remembered by her three sisters Susan (Ron) Rosema of Fort Myers, FL., Carol (Tom) Bauer of Grand Haven, and Lisa (John) Emmert of Spring Lake, a brother James Lampson of Niles, MI., and many nieces and nephews. Sandy was preceded in death by her father Robert Henry Lampson on February 11, 2001.
A celebration of Sandy’s life and the life of her mother Rosella is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at The United Methodist Church of The Dunes with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Eldon Eldred will officiate the ceremony. Donations in Sandy’s memory can be made to Hospice of North Ottawa Community.
