Sandra Stover's Obituary
Sandra Stover died April 14, 2026, at 84 years young. She was born on September 12, 1941, in Muskegon, Michigan, the daughter of Paul and Grace (Omness) Simonson. Sandy graduated from Whitehall High School in 1959. She attended Muskegon Community College and graduated from Western Michigan University. Upon graduation she taught second grade in Muskegon schools.
Outside of school Sandy enjoyed reading, gardening, and dining with friends. She will be fondly remembered for never answering her phone, her infectious laugh, her banana bread, and her deviled eggs.
Sandy will be greatly missed by her son, Dana O'Connell; grandson, Carson O'Connell; sister-in-law, Susan Simonson; and her group of Golden Girl friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Darin O'Connell; brother, Paul (Pidge) Simonson Jr., parents, Grace and Paul Simonson; and husbands: Terry O'Connell, Don Sharpe, and Alan Stover.
A reception will be held at the Book Nook and Java Shop, 8744 Ferry Street, Montague, MI, 49437, on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Whitehall Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 816 S. Mears, Whitehall, MI, 49461.
