Mrs. Sandra Lee Welbes' Obituary
Mrs. Sandra Lee Welbes, age 75, passed away Monday, August 1, 2016, at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence, following a courageous battle with brain cancer. Sandy was born on July 3, 1941, in Muskegon to Robert and Lillian (Roest) Jensen. Sandra was employed by Comerica (formerly Hackley) Bank as a teller for 22 years prior to her retirement in 1999. Sandy enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Sandy is survived by Gerald Welbes, her husband of 50 years; her children, Robert (Roxanne) Welbes and Amber Welbes, all of Muskegon; grandson, Jake; brother, Ronald (Bonnie) Jensen of Fruitport; sisters, Carole Pearson of Norton Shores, Roberta (David) Strait of Muskegon, Cindy Wells, Joni (Michael) Meloche, all of Norton Shores and Janis (Michael) Barnhard of Grant; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Lawrence Jensen. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11 AM Saturday, August 6, 2016 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1716 Sixth St. with Rev Fr. Phillip Sliwinski presiding. VISITATION will be Friday evening from 6-8 PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 798-1100 with the ROSARY being prayed at 8 PM; and one hour prior to the Mass at the Church (10-11AM).
