Sandra Ilene Yokubonus' Obituary
Sandra Ilene Yokubonus, age 76, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023. During her life she fought many courageous health battles including Leukemia, breast cancer, and the most recent being Lewy Body Dementia. Sandra was born October 23, 1946 in Muskegon to Hoyt and Irene (Richards) Shepard. She was a 1964 graduate of Muskegon Heights High School. Sandra worked for Brunswick Corporation in Sales for over 30 years. She organized and oversaw annual food drives benefiting the Muskegon Rescue Mission. She had the biggest heart and lived for giving to others. She enjoyed boating, taking trips, and going to casinos. She also loved her dogs. SURVIVORS include her life partner of 37 years, Robert Sapp of Norton Shores; two sons: Dan Yokubonus of North Muskegon and Doug Yokubonus of Norton Shores; two beloved grandchildren: Jordan and Brooklin Yokubonus; and a brother, Gerald Shepard of Grand Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jacqueline Sanborn. According to her wishes, there will be no services. Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association will be appreciated.
