Scott A. LaPres' Obituary
Scott Alan LaPres, age 55, passed away after a long illness on Friday, July 31, 2020. He was born on July 19, 1965 to John and Barbara (Tice) LaPres in Muskegon. Scott graduated from Orchard View High School where he was a talented baseball and football player. He joined the United States Army immediately after graduation and came back to Muskegon after he was Honorably Discharged. Scott was a dedicated and hard worker at Port City Die Cast and Dilesco Corporation for over 20 years. When he was not working Scott enjoyed fishing and camping. He was known for his humor and always was ready to crack a joke. Scott is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (whom he always lovingly called ‘Foofer’) Smith; two grandchildren; father, John; brothers, Greg LaPres, Jeff LaPres, Steve LaPres, Mike LaPres, Jason (Leslie) LaPres and Andy (Kasey) LaPres; and 14 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barb. A Memorial Service will be held for both Scott and his mother, Barb, at 11AM, Tuesday, August 18 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church (3252 Apple Ave., 49442) with a luncheon following at the church pavilion.
