Scott W. Manak's Obituary
Mr. Scott Wayne Manak, age 68, passed away Monday, January 13, 2020 in Muskegon. He was born in Muskegon on December 26, 1951 to Louis Paul and Ruth Lucille (Puckett) Manak. Scott graduated from Muskegon High School, class of 1970. He was confirmed and baptized at Dr. Martin Luther Lutheran Church. Scott spent his entire career working and managing in the bar/restaurant industry including Bear Lake Tavern, Marine Tap Room, Muskegon Eagles, and 18 years at Tohado House. He was a loyal Muskegon Big Red’s fan and spent several years helping on the sidelines during the Dave Taylor era. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Michigan Wolverines fan. Scott enjoyed salmon fishing, golfing, and bowling. He was a member of the Lakeside Veterans Club and the Muskegon Eagles. Scott will be remembered for his ability to make friends and for his generosity. Scott is survived by two brothers, Paul (Linda DeLong) Manak of Texas and Louis (Jennifer) Manak of Norton Shores; one sister, Cheryl Karp of Arizona; and eight nieces and nephews, Paul L. (Doreen) Manak, Michael S. Manak, Paulette Deering, Phillip Manak, Angela (Rick) Slater, Steven Karp, Matthew Karp, and Emma Karp. VISITATION will be from 5-8 PM Friday, January 17, 2020 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, January 18, 2020 at St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church (1200 Seminole Road, Norton Shores, MI 49441) with Rev. Lily Marx officiating. MEMORIALS in memory of Scott may be directed to the Muskegon Big Red Athletic Foundation.
