Mr. Scott Thomas Peel, age 47, went on the final adventure of his life on June 30, 2015 at his home in Grand Haven surrounded by his family and friends. He was born to Tom and Diane Peel on July 27, 1967 in Muskegon.
Scott was self-employed in the trucking and excavating business for years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake, the local Eagles, Ducks Unlimited, White Tails Unlimited, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and The National Turkey Federation. Scott was passionate about hunting deer, duck, elk, bear and in his younger years enjoyed trapping. He was also an avid offshore boating enthusiast and participant. He was proud to be involved in trucking, excavating, and enjoyed cooking and traveling and his beloved dogs, Deke and Gus.
Scott is survived by his parents, Tom and Diane; his sister, Wendy (Ron) Redick; nieces, Alexa and Makila Redick; maternal grandparents, George and Helen Heagney; aunt, Georgene Bartell; paternal aunts and uncles: Dolores Heyblom, Dick and Liz Peel, Betty Dalman, Bill and Marcia Braunschneider; 44 cousins; and 9 year old Brock, a special friend to whom Scott was a mentor and had a great bond with. Scott was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clyde and Virginia Peel; Uncle Donald G. Peel; Uncle Gil Heyblom; Uncle Mel Dalman; his very best friend and companion Deke, his ever-faithful Chocolate Lab; no two of God’s creatures were ever matched so perfectly as Scott and Deke. Scott lived a full life of someone 74 plus years in just a short 47 years. Celebrate and remember his adventures. Go and enjoy!
